Wain Kellum
CEO
Prior to joining Vocalocity, Wain developed a solid track record of rapid revenue growth and successful outcomes for a diverse group of technology companies he has managed. Wain has deep experience organically growing companies; buying and integrating companies; forming strategic alliances; and raising capital. He has completed successful equity transactions with a variety of companies including Microsoft and with Hewlett Packard (HP). During the eighties, before starting and eventually selling his first company to HP, Wain gained experience as a business strategist for Dun & Bradstreet Software; as a manufacturing consultant for Ernst & Young; and in sales for Management Science America, Inc. (MSA). Wain has investments in an assortment of private companies and currently serves on the board of NETtime Solutions. He is the Chair Emeritus and served as the Chairperson of TechBridge from 2006 – 2009. Wain also serves as an advisor to the ATDC. Wain was the recipient of the Southeastern AeA 2005 “Spirit of Endeavor” Award for Outstanding Leadership. In 2008, Wain was named one of the 25 most influential people in the southeast technology community by TechJournal South. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with honors from the University of South Carolina and an MBA from Georgia State University. He also completed the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at Harvard Business School.
Patrick Clark
CFO
Pat Clark is responsible for all of Vocalocity’s financial, administrative and business planning functions, including finance, accounting, human resources and legal. He is an accomplished financial executive with over 20 years of diverse experience in media, communications, business services and medical products industries and has partnered with CEOs and his colleagues to build strong, successful businesses. Prior to joining Vocalocity, Pat held senior finance roles at The Weather Channel, including Chief Financial Officer of the company at the time of its successful $3+ billion sale to NBC Universal, The Blackstone Group and Bain Capital in September 2008. During his tenure at The Weather Channel, the company implemented critical strategic transitions, including the highly successful development of www.weather.com. A CPA, Pat previously served as Corporate Controller of Barton Protective Services (now Allied Barton). In his role at Inmed Corporation he was responsible for the evaluation of potential acquisition targets and subsequent integration of acquired companies in a series of leveraged buyouts. Pat began his career as an auditor in the Atlanta office of Deloitte. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting with honors from Georgia State University.
Cindy Tierney
CIO and VP, Operations
Cindy is responsible for all aspects of operations and customer care at Vocalocity. She brings 24 years of experience in leading and energizing major business operations to achieve higher levels of performance. Prior to joining Vocalocity, she served as CIO and SVP of Beazer Homes, an Atlanta-based organization in which she was responsible for assessing the impacts of emerging technologies relative to strategic business needs, interpreting their meaning for the organization’s executive leadership team, and recommending/implementing strategic technology initiatives. She led business technology planning, applying both her current knowledge and her future vision to the company’s needs for intelligent economic responses to significant changes in financial realities. She served as CIO at NSI and led strategic planning, systems and technology. At Comdisco (once the largest disaster recovery company in the world), Cindy was the SVP of Global Strategic Advisory Services. As the Senior Executive Director for Business Systems and Planning at Office Depot, Cindy was instrumental in the growth of the company from 200 stores to over 500 stores. Her leadership as the Chairperson of the M&A team resulted in the successful integration of 21 companies and the growth of the global corporate sales organization. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Georgia Southern University and is a native of Atlanta, GA.
Mahesh Paolini-Subramanya
CTO
Mahesh Paolini-Subramanya is the CTO of Vocalocity, a position he has held since its merger with Aptela. Drawing upon 20 years of accomplishments in Internet based services, Mr. Paolini-Subramanya is a recognized thought leader in the VoIP industry. An Internet pioneer, he developed the technological foundation for the e-commerce revolution by helping to create the world's first online commerce system, and has since been at the forefront of the development of hosted VoIP services. Mr. Paolini-Subramanya was previously a founder and CTO of Aptela prior to its merger with Vocalocity. Before that, he was V.P. of Development at Neoglyphics Media where he inaugurated the use of Java technologies in financial services and CTO of Proxicom where he also led the Technology practice. He holds a B. Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology - Kanpur and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
Jonathan Alexander
VP, Engineering
Jonathan leads the Vocalocity development and testing teams, and brings over 25 years of experience delivering superior software products. He most recently authored Codermetrics (O’Reilly Media, 2011), a text that examines clear and objective ways of identifying and analyzing how to make engineering teams more cohesive and productive. He also maintains the Codermetrics community, a forum for collaborative communications about software engineering metrics. Prior to joining Vocalocity, he was co-founder and president of vmSight (acquired by Liquidware Labs in 2009) a pioneer in virtual data center planning and monitoring, where he led operations and product development. Jonathan previously served as VP of products at CRM and marketing analytics leader Epiphany (acquired by Infor in 2006) and was VP and CTO of venture-backed Radnet which built a web business-to-business platform that was acquired by Epiphany in 2001. Raised in Los Angeles, a long-time resident of Boston and now residing in Atlanta, Jonathan was educated in computer science at UCLA, developed software for Lotus Development Corp. and began his career writing software for author/director Michael Crichton.
Matthew Smith
VP, Information Systems
As Vice President of Information Systems, Matthew Smith joined Vocalocity after the merger with Aptela. Mr. Smith has extensive experience with all aspects of designing, building, operating and improving software systems, with a deep focus on the human aspects of system usability. Throughout his career, he has been a key player in various game-changing initiatives, such as the first e-commerce store on the web, the first airline ticketing web portal and the first online Super Bowl store. Prior to Aptela, Mr. Smith worked in leadership roles at AOL and Thomson Reuters. Mr. Smith has a B.S. in Advertising from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication and a minor in Anthropology.
Steve Gant
VP, Business Development and International
Steve Gant is responsible for expanding Vocalocity services and market penetration through strategic partnerships with technology vendors, service providers, and international businesses. Steve is a start up veteran and entrepreneur, with over 20 years of successful international business development and start up expertise in the communications, information security, and virtualization space. Steve joined Vocalocity from Liquidware Labs where he served as VP of Strategic Alliances and Business Development. He also served as VP of Business Development and Solutions Management for Internet Security Systems (ISS), Inc., a worldwide leader in intrusion detection software and services, now part of IBM. In both roles he was responsible for leading their product strategy, business development, product management, and partner alliance organizations. Internationally, Steve also served as the VP of Worldwide Consulting and Education as well as VP of Latin American Operations for ISS. Early in his civilian career, Steve worked extensively with Galaxy DirecTV Latin America and DirecTV Japan while working as an international account executive for General Instrument-MCS, now part of Motorola. Steve also served as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps and earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Auburn University.
Kyle Johnson
VP, Sales
Kyle Johnson comes to Vocalocity with over 12 years of experience in delivering and sustaining revenue growth. Prior to joining Vocalocity, Johnson worked at Capital Access Network where he headed a very successful inside sales organization. His broad range of proven success includes development and execution of high growth sales strategies, scalability design and execution, improvement in on boarding, as well as the incredible retention rates of his team through his strong leadership skills.
Jane Rafeedie
VP, Marketing
Jane’s passion for innovation and thought leadership coupled with a disciplined, results-oriented management style, have contributed to her enviable track record of success in the information industry. She is known for developing world class service teams that are adaptable, energetic, talented and customer-focused. Most recently with Reed Construction Data (RCD), a leading North American provider of construction information through a diverse portfolio of innovative products and services, Jane held the role of Vice President of Data Acquisition and Fulfillment. During that time, Jane led a significant program of innovation and change management that drove product enhancements and sales growth as a result of operational improvements. Prior to her time at RCD Jane was the Vice President of Internet Initiatives and General Manager of KnowXLLC, a subsidiary of ChoicePoint, now Lexis Nexis. She has also held senior marketing and product positions at Information America, an online information company, where she developed numerous cutting edge solutions using the databases of public records collected and compiled from courthouses throughout the United States. Jane graduated from the University of Iowa and has been active in many civic and charitable organizations over her career. She and her husband are busy raising their three children and live in Atlanta.
Ann Santorios
VP, Product Management
As Vice President of Product Management, Mrs. Santorios joined Vocalocity after the merger with Aptela. She is responsible for leading marketing and communication initiatives along with defining the company's product roadmap. Mrs. Santorios brings 15 years of experience to Vocalocity with an extensive background in wireless telecommunications and web services with a unique focus on messaging and social networking. Her diverse experience includes significant contributions in product management, marketing, business development, sales programs and business operations. Prior to joining Aptela, Mrs. Santorios led product management for the largest messaging community in the US, AOL's Instant Messenger, AIM®. Earlier in her career, Ms. Santorios spearheaded product management initiatives at NII Holdings and Nextel Communications, where she was instrumental in launching mobile data solutions in the United States, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Peru. Providing individual product, go-to-market and operational strategies for each organization, she showcased her talent for creating and developing relationships that deliver value for all parties.
