Vocalocity Launches New Dashboard Feature
April 20, 2009
ATLANTA – April 20, 2009 – Vocalocity, the leading provider of hosted PBX VoIP services and infrastructure applications for small businesses, today announced new features for its VocalocityPBX service that enable managers and coworkers to see the real time status of all extensions in their organization. Called the VocalocityPBX Dashboard, the new features allow phone administrators to create customized views organized by user and status, in an easy-to-use interface similar to popular instant messaging services.
The VocalocityPBX Dashboard provides all users with an at-a-glance view of the people in their organization or on their team, along with the status and availability of the user. The dashboard provides many benefits for employees, including:
- Summary view of all active calls, conferences and queues
- Real-time view of coworker status (i.e. on a call, away, etc.)
- Click-to-call features, enabling users to dial any external number with a click of the mouse
- Simple status options to update co-workers, such as "Do Not Disturb"
- Instant access to a directory of all company extensions
"The Dashboard may not seem like a groundbreaking feature for a lot of people, but it's significant for our customers and their ability to work more efficiently," said David Politis, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Vocalocity. "This feature allows our customers to use their hosted VoIP system more effectively, enabling them to see who is on the phone or who is available in real-time, as well as if they want to take a call or route it to someone else in the organization."
"Managers can also use Dashboard to monitor employee phone use, such as how long a team member has been on the phone or who they are on the phone with," adds Politis. "Our customers want more visibility into their call activity, and Dashboard is a big step in the right direction for them."
Vocalocity will offer the Dashboard as a standard feature for all new and existing customers in the Spring '09 Release of VocalocityPBX, scheduled for April 20th. Since VocalocityPBX is a SaaS (Software as a Service) based solution, customers are able to take advantage of these updated features without manual software upgrades or distribution to their flow of business operations.
The Spring '09 Release of VocalocityPBX also includes Microsoft Outlook Integration, enabling customers to utilize features like click-to-call to dial any external number stored in their Outlook contacts.
The Dashboard feature have been well received by customers during its three-week beta, encouraging Vocalocity to look at enhancements and other features that will be integrated into the Dashboard shortly. "The Vocalocity Dashboard simplifies my life," said Richard M. Sander, a Vocalocity customer and sales manager at Price & Company Realty. "I can see which of my agents are on the phone, or available for calls, instantly and in real time. It doesn’t matter which office they’re in, if they’re online, they’re on my Dashboard."
"We see Dashboard as becoming the centerpiece to our product offering," said Politis. "Customers like to be able to control everything about their phone system. Dashboard really enables customers to work more efficiently, and gives managers a lot of tools at their disposal for monitoring and managing worker productivity. A lot of vendors would use a service like this as an excuse to increase rates or up sell customers, for Vocalocity, we just see it as a way to add more value to our customer relationship. So far, it's working. Our customers are very excited about these new features."
The new VocalocityPBX features, including the Dashboard and Microsoft Outlook Integration will be included in the Spring '09 Release of VocalocityPBX, scheduled for April 20th.
