Vocalocity Secures $4.1 Million in New Funding

ATLANTA– JANUARY 28, 2009 – Vocalocity, the leading provider of hosted PBX VoIP services and infrastructure applications for small businesses, today announced it has raised $4.1 million in Series B financing. TechOperators, an Atlanta-based venture capital firm, was the lead investor in this 2nd round of funding, with participation from existing investors Noro-Moseley Partners, Pittco Capital Partners, Imlay Partners and members of the Vocalocity management team.

According to Vocalocity’s CEO, Boris Jerkunica, “This round of funding is a testament to the strength of Vocalocity and the rising expectations of the small business hosted application market. In a period of difficult economic challenges when many technology companies are simply trying to survive, Vocalocity is executing successfully and solidifying its position in the market. Now, more than ever, small businesses need our offering to better compete.”
Vocalocity will continue targeting small businesses that are looking for a cost-effective and feature-rich business communications system. Leveraging the new funding, the company will accelerate its growth, unveil new features and extend its application platform.

TechOperators LLC is a new Atlanta-based growth capital fund comprised of tech veterans Tom Noonan, Said Mohammadioun, Glenn McGonnigle and Dave Gould. The fund invests considerable operational and strategic assistance in conjunction with its financial commitment. Dave Gould, former CEO of Witness Systems, and Said Mohammadioun will serve as active members. “We love the target market and growth opportunities for the company,” Mohammadioun said. “It’s a fantastic platform from which to provide a full suite of software-as-a-service applications for the small business market. We see Vocalocity as a way to enable small businesses to compete more effectively. The company has had great success to date and we’re excited to help it build on its leadership position.”

Vocalocity currently provides subscription, Internet-based business phone systems for enterprises with fewer than 20 employees. With service and support included in one affordable monthly package, VocalocityPBX, a hosted VoIP solution, uses Vocalocity’s leading-edge technology to ensure plug and play ease of implementation. Over the next few months, the company will be rolling out a complementary suite of applications to provide small businesses extended hosted IT infrastructure capabilities.
