What our customers say:

"We wanted a solution that would allow customer service reps to walk back and forth to the adjacent warehouse with the customer on the phone, while checking on inventory and shipments, and without having to transfer or call back the customer."

The Benefits of a Hosted System

Hosted VoIP can benefit small businesses in just about every industry. Even sole proprietorships can benefit from the cost savings and professional features of a hosted VoIP phone system. There is no equipment to buy or lease, so the upfront of investment of a hosted system is very reasonable for most businesses. In fact, since there is no startup fee, the only investment is the phones themselves, which every business will need in order to communicate effectively.

The difference between an in-house system and one like Vocalocity, which is hosted remotely, is that all the features of your system are delivered as a subscription service over the internet. You can control and update all the features through user-friendly online web portal. The administrator can control system-wide changes, and each user gets their own password protected portal to control their own extension settings.

Affordability is first and foremost in the minds of many small business owners, but fortunately for Vocalocity customers, cost savings doesn’t mean sacrificing quality or features. Low flat-rate unlimited extensions mean predictable budgeting and low cost calling, and business grade features are included for no extra charge.

Features that Benefit Small Business

Vocalocity comes with a wide array of features included at no extra cost when you sign up with even one extension. Vocalocity is constantly developing new features to fit the changing needs of our customers. Many of the features we offer have been implemented at the request of our customers, and we are constantly striving to adapt to the ever changing needs of small businesses in the fast-paced technological world of business.

Calling Features

There are a number of calling features that make it easy for small businesses to communicate, and that integrate especially well with cordless Panasonic handsets.

Call Park is one of our newest features, and it allows you to simply “park” a call, so that it can be retrieved by another extension. Rather than transferring a call to a specific extension or individual, Call Park allows you to place a call on hold so that any other extension that is available can pick it up. For businesses that have multiple team members that can field calls based on availability, this feature is a big asset. For Panasonic TPA 50 Handset users, Call Park makes it easy for anyone to field a call, without having to be the direct recipient of a transfer.

Call Transfer is for those instances when a call needs to go to a certain individual, extension number, or Call Group. Call Transfers are done quickly and easily with a simple keystroke, and can be done either ‘blind’ or ‘attended’. ‘Blind’ transfers occur when a call is simply passed onto another extension, without the original recipient speaking to the new recipient. An ‘Attended’ transfer means that the first call recipient speaks to the new one prior to completing the transfer. The difference in the two can be useful if there is information that needs to be relayed first before the call is transferred.

Call Forwarding is a powerful feature that can ensure that you never miss a call. This hosted VoIP feature allows you to forward your extension to multiple numbers, either in sequence or simultaneously. Users can enter any number they choose into their extension settings to ensure that they never miss a call. With call forwarding it’s easy to receive a call on a mobile phone while you’re out of the office, and then have the call go back to company voicemail if the call still isn’t answered.

Work from Anywhere is one of the most attractive features of Vocalocity’s VoIP system to many small businesses. Because VoIP service is delivered over the internet, anywhere there is an internet connection becomes a place where you can make and receive calls at your company phone number. VoIP phones register their location with your phone system via a unique IP address, which means that they will work regardless of physical location. You can take your phone home or on the road, and make and receive calls as if you were in the office.

Multiple Phones on One Extension is another new feature that is an extension of our Work from Anywhere feature. Often businesses want to be able to have several devices share the same extension number. Now Vocalocity customers can allow up to 3 devices to share the same extension number. This is convenient for the Panasonic TPA 50, because up to 3 handsets can share the same extension number. That means that every handset connected to the extension will ring, and any one of them can answer the call. This is convenient for large spaces such as restaurants, showroom floors, and warehouses.

Proprietary Technology vs. Open Source

Vocalocity owns its own technology and has developed it from the ground up. Many VoIP companies develop their systems from open source code. Open Source code is developed by many different 3rd party developers. This means that implementing new features and providing system updates can be cumbersome and problematic, because the developers who are implementing changes aren’t the ones that created the system itself.

Vocalocity is able to implement system updates and new features quickly and efficiently, thanks to our proprietary technology. Our developers and engineers know our system backwards and forwards, and have an expert knowledge of all of its functionality. We are constantly updating our system and developing new features to fit our customers’ changing needs. Our customer care team regularly surveys our customer base, and makes recommendations to our development team based on customer feedback. With this feedback we are able to prioritize new features based on what is most needed.
